It’s National Soup Month, Time to Warm Up at Lumina Station

With the cold weather in abundance, January is the perfect month to celebrate and enjoy soup of all kinds. And let’s face it, nothing beats a hot bowl of soup on a cold winter’s day.

It is thought that soup could trace back as far as the Neolithic Age, and we know the early Greeks sold soup in their market places and streets. Before the addition of lentils, beans and other ingredients, soup was just broth, used mainly for the dipping of bread. The bread was known as “sop”, which eventually became the deliciousness we know as soup.

Soup can be purchased in the can, cup, bowl or packet (just add water). From thick and creamy like Bisque or Chowder, to broths and stews, soup is a wonderful treat and you’ll find most restaurants offer a home-made soup of the day or specialty soup hot and ready for the tasting. The restaurants at Lumina Station are no exception to this rule.

Port Land Grille features a filling Southern Style Chowder with shrimp, crab and scallops, perfect for those chilly evenings. At 19 Hundred and Grand Cru Food & Wine a seasonal Soup Du Jour or soup of the day is always on the menu and at Brasserie du Soleil no meal is complete without their Onion Soup Gratinee. No matter your taste or preference, you can’t go wrong with a visit to any of the distinctive restaurants at Lumina Station where you’ll warm up with soup and much, much more!
